VolleyTOTZ … is an exciting volleyball program for 4 to 5 year olds. Each day the session meets is an 1.5 hours of volleyball drills, snack time and scooters.
You may be asking yourself, how can 4 and 5 year old boys and girls be taught volleyball skills?
In our specially designed, age appropriate Totz program, participants use a lighter ball which is covered in a soft cloth material, unlike a normal volleyball which is leather bound.
During each four week session participants will be taught two basic volleyball skills; passing and hitting. While focusing on passing, participants will be taught to call the ball, how to shuffle to the ball, the correct platform and base and how to use their arms to pass the ball to target. While focusing on hitting, each participant will learn the proper footwork and how to use their arms.
But wait…this special Totz program is not just about volleyball! During each practice time throughout the six week session our little Totz get the opportunity to run through an obstacle course designed just for them. While running through the obstacle course our Totz are working their big muscles while jumping, crawling and rolling, plus, working on their agility by shuffling and balancing. At the end of each class time, every Tot gets the opportunity to roll across the floor on one of our scooters. Our Totz love the scooters and even though they think the scooters are fun and exciting, it’s actually quite the workout. While on the scooters each Tot is working to build stronger leg and shoulder muscles.
As you can see our VolleyTotz program uses a combination of volleyball drills, obstacle course activities, and scooters to make each session fun and exciting. Making this fun program not only geared towards volleyball but towards each Totz motor, agility, and muscle development.
